The workshop is dedicated to enhancing reading and writing skills and mastering Quran recitation based on the Yemeni Alphabet Book, known as Al-Qaida Al-Yamaniya.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop organized by the Technical Committee for Activities and Summer Courses aims to improve the skills of participants to enhance students' abilities in early education stages. This initiative seeks to enable students to accurately recite the Holy Quran, understand its words, and write them correctly.
During their visit, Al-Razahi and Al-Mahthouri were accompanied by Taysir Rawiyah, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, and Ali Al-Umadi, Deputy Head of the Education Sector. Al-Razahi noted that the 'Al-Qaida Al-Yamaniya' program results from collaboration between the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. Its significance lies in adopting the Holy Quran as a curriculum to ensure a shift in education and early student preparation. He mentioned that last year's experience included 26 schools across various governorates and yielded positive results, with plans for greater expansion this academic year.
Additionally, Al-Razahi explained that training courses for qualifying teachers have been launched in several governorates to disseminate knowledge and expertise to educational staff before the school year begins. He reiterated the Supreme Committee's commitment, in coordination with relevant authorities, to support programs that build a conscious and capable generation, strengthening authentic Islamic values among youth.
Furthermore, Al-Razahi and Al-Mahthouri reviewed the progress of maintenance and renovation work at the closed sports hall in the sports city of Dhamar, funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The renovation project, which is 90 percent complete, includes upgrading stands, installing spectator seats, replacing damaged ceilings, and maintaining associated facilities. The project's importance lies in revitalizing sports activity and supporting talented athletes.
The Deputy Minister emphasized the significance of the project in preserving a key sports facility damaged due to aggression, urging an expedited completion of the remaining works according to approved specifications and standards. The Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar commended the ministry leadership and local authorities for their support in ensuring the success of this vital project for the sports and youth sector in the governorate.
