Sana'a: The Capital Secretariat organized on Tuesday a cultural gathering in celebration of the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. In his address, the Capital Mayor, Dr. Hamoud Obad, highlighted the greatness of the occasion and the importance of commemorating it as an expression of reverence and honor for the Messenger of Allah, the seal of the prophets. He emphasized that the Yemeni people's celebration of this anniversary reflects their deep love, loyalty, and devotion to the Prophet, as well as their adherence to his teachings, courage, and struggle in defense of truth and the oppressed.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Obad noted that this joyous occasion also embodies Yemen's steadfast stance in supporting Gaza and the Palestinian people, reaffirming commitment to the path of the Prophet in resisting tyranny and arrogance. He praised the uniqueness of the Yemeni people under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who continue to demonstrate to the world that the Muslim Ummah remains capable of confronting the enemies of Islam and defending the oppressed.
He condemned the positions of certain Arab rulers in the face of the massacres, genocide, and starvation inflicted on the Palestinian people in Gaza by the Zionist entity and its American ally. The mayor urged everyone to instill love and reverence for the Prophet in the hearts of future generations, remain steadfast in following his guidance, and take pride in celebrating his blessed birth.
During the event, attended by Secretary-General of the Local Council Amin Joman, Chairman of the Planning and Development Committee Sharaf al-Hadi, and several deputy officials, the Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee, Hamoud al-Naqeeb, stressed the Capital Secretariat's commitment to organizing and supervising hundreds of activities and events across all districts, offices, and sectors in celebration of the Prophet's birth anniversary.
He affirmed that this broad official and popular participation reflects Yemenis' enduring love and loyalty to the Prophet throughout history. Al-Naqeeb added that since the dawn of Islam, Yemenis had the honor of supporting the Messenger of Allah and standing against the enemies of the faith, such as the Quraysh polytheists, and that today's celebrations are a continuation of the noble legacy of the Aws and Khazraj in spreading Islam far and wide.
