Sana'a: The College of Medical Administration at the University of September 21 for Medical and Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the University Student Forum, organized a special event on Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event featured a speech by Hamid Asim, the First Deputy Governor of Sana'a Province, who emphasized the significant connection between the people of Yemen and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He cited the Prophet's saying, "Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni," to highlight the deep-rooted bond. Asim encouraged participants to embody the Prophet's values in their daily lives and urged them to participate in large numbers in the grand central celebration scheduled for the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal in Sana'a.
University President Dr. Mujahid Massar reflected on the importance of the occasion as a time to renew love and loyalty to the Prophet, whose mission transformed the Arabian Peninsula and had a lasting global impact. Dr. Massar noted that the Prophet's life exemplified the teachings of the Qur'an and continues to inspire Muslims in facing contemporary challenges. He stressed the significance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday as an expression of divine mercy and grace.
Dr. Ibrahim al-Hamdi, Dean of the College of Medical Administration, highlighted the event as a spiritual and educational opportunity to draw inspiration from the Prophet's values and morals. He also praised the Yemeni people's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and their resilience against global oppression.
The event was attended by university vice presidents, college deans, the secretary-general, and academic and administrative staff. It included poetry recitations, chants, and a theatrical performance celebrating the Prophet's legacy in Yemeni hearts.
In addition to the commemorative activities, the First Deputy Governor and the University President inaugurated a charity bazaar, which featured traditional foods, handicrafts, and local products, further enriching the celebratory atmosphere.
