Wada'ah: Residents of Wada'ah area in Bani Suraim District, Amran Governorate, have implemented a community initiative to repair and rehabilitate the Madhir mountain road after it sustained damage from recent rainfall.
According to Yemen News Agency, the initiative included paving and leveling the road, constructing a retaining wall, and building rainwater drainage channels along a 270-meter stretch. The work was carried out through community efforts and self-funded contributions from local residents and businesspeople.
Community initiative coordinator Munif Hamadi said the project reflects the spirit of solidarity and collective action, highlighting the community's awareness of the importance of contributing to service and development projects, particularly in the road sector, which directly impacts citizens' daily lives.
He noted that such initiatives help improve living conditions and facilitate transportation, stressing that the road rehabilitation project meets the needs of local residents.
Hamadi called on community committees, social figures, and business leaders to continue supporting community initiatives and to unite efforts in implementing additional service projects that meet public needs and promote local development.
For his part, project supervisor Mahmoud Ahmed stated that the total cost of the initiative amounted to 4.94 million Yemeni riyals. He added that the project rehabilitated a road used by more than 5,000 people, significantly improving mobility for local residents.
