Sana'a: The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, met today with key representatives from the United Nations to discuss the future of their cooperation and relationship. The meeting included UNFPA Resident Representative Francesco Galtieri, WHO Resident Representative Jaafar Hussein, and the Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator, Abdul Nasser Awali.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Foreign Minister reaffirmed Sana'a's dedication to maintaining dialogue with the United Nations. This dialogue aims to address existing issues, support the Yemeni people, and restore faith in the international organization. Abu Ras emphasized that dialogue is essential to overcoming challenges and enhancing cooperation. He highlighted that without the ongoing aggression and blockade on Yemen, humanitarian aid would not be necessary.
Abu Ras expressed the Yemeni people's aspirations for self-sufficiency and independence, stating that they are eager to rely on their own resources. He asserted Yemen's refusal to accept continued foreign aggression and occupation, indicating that Yemen will pursue all legitimate means to achieve freedom, independence, and a dignified existence.
The UN representatives assured their commitment to ongoing dialogue and support for the Yemeni people, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation in addressing the humanitarian challenges faced by the country.
