Sanaa: The Main Boycott Committee convened under the leadership of Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Eng. Moeen al-Mahqeri, to assess the ongoing implementation of the decision to boycott American goods.

According to Yemen News Agency, the session, attended by the Chairman of the Customs Authority, Eng. Adel Margham, involved a thorough review of the previous meeting's minutes and the examination of practical steps taken to enforce the boycott. Minister al-Mahqeri expressed satisfaction with the progress and rising public consciousness about the boycott's significance. He stressed the necessity for stronger coordination among relevant bodies to ensure comprehensive enforcement of the decision.

The meeting underscored the obligatory aspect of the boycott on American goods, emphasizing the need for increased market monitoring, inspections, and awareness campaigns. These efforts are seen as an economic strategy and a show of support for the Palestinian cause. Participants also highlighted the importance of promoting national products and finding local substitutes for boycotted items.

It was reiterated that a three-month grace period for disposing of existing stock has already commenced, based on the date goods left customs outlets. The entry of newly contracted American goods post-decision is strictly prohibited. The meeting also advocated for enhanced media campaigns and greater public involvement, portraying the boycott as a potent economic instrument and a moral, humanitarian stance.
