Sana'a: Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi commended the vocational secondary programs on Tuesday, recognizing them as the optimal approach to fulfill the labor market's demands. During a workshop organized by the Ministry's Secondary Education Sector, titled "Evaluating the Results of the First Phase of the Project to Establish Vocational Secondary Programs and Developing a Roadmap for Their Expansion," he highlighted the necessity of expanding and sustaining these programs.
According to Yemen News Agency, Minister Al-Saadi noted the initiatives undertaken to introduce new vocational education pathways in public schools. These initiatives aim to encourage secondary school students to select paths that align with their skills and interests. He emphasized the significance of these programs in equipping students to meet the requirements of the local labor market.
Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, also addressed the workshop, stressing the importance of these programs in producing qualified graduates for local industries. Dr. Al-Duais underscored the need to provide vocational high school graduates with opportunities to pursue bachelor's degrees in relevant fields at community colleges and universities. He urged the workshop participants, including deans of vocational institutes and principals of targeted schools, to actively engage in evaluating the first phase's results to ensure the program's success.
Additionally, Dr. Zaid Al-Hadour, Undersecretary of the Secondary Education Sector, presented an analytical and evaluative study of the vocational high school pilot program for the year 1447 AH. He also discussed the curriculum plans and their implementation strategies, providing insights into the program's ongoing development.
