Sanaa: Residents of the al-Hashishiya neighborhood and the al-Dhari, Uqbah bin Nafi', and Sinan Hatroum quarters in the al-Nasr and Sa'wan areas of Shaoub District, Capital Secretariat, organized evening gatherings to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the events were attended by the Head of the Social Affairs Committee in the Capital Secretariat's Local Council Hamoud al-Naqeeb, the district's mobilization official Abdullah al-Koul, the Director of Neighborhood Affairs Mohammed al-Washah, along with local and executive leaders, neighborhood mobilization officials, dignitaries, elders, and community figures, and featured speeches and cultural segments.
Al-Koul stressed that these celebrations, held in all neighborhoods of Shaoub District, embody the Yemenis' deep love and loyalty to the Prophet and their strong connection to his guiding path since the dawn of Islam.
He highlighted the role of early Yemenis, who were among the first to embrace Islam and carry its banner as conquerors and preachers, spreading the faith across the world. He criticized those who condemn the celebration of the Prophet's birthday, noting that such people today celebrate the most trivial and disgraceful matters to the point of becoming a mockery within the Muslim community.
He urged everyone to continue organizing activities, gatherings, and mass mobilization for the upcoming 'Prophetic Festival' to be held by the district next Sunday as part of the Capital Secretariat's wider celebrations of the Prophet's birth.
The evenings also featured poetry, religious chanting, and devotional songs in praise and love of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
