Event at Ibb Hospital Marks Mawlid al-Nabawi with New Projects and Programs

Sana'a: The Educational Maternity and Childhood Hospital in Ibb Governorate organized a speech event today in commemoration of Mawlid al-Nabawi, which coincided with the inauguration and rehabilitation of several departments and facilities. This event also marked the launch of a postgraduate pediatric fellowship program and an obstetrics and gynecology course.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Abdulwahid Salah emphasized the significance of Mawlid as a spiritual occasion to reflect on the Prophet's life and renew commitment to values such as mercy, charity, and service. He urged healthcare workers to incorporate these values into their professional practice by improving medical care and treating patients with responsibility and compassion.

Salah acknowledged the hospital's development initiatives, including the rehabilitation of departments and facilities, as a testament to the dedication towards enhancing healthcare services for mothers and children. He encouraged ongoing development efforts to ensure preparedness in providing medical care during the central Mawlid celebrations on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal.

Dr. Najib Al-Kamil, Director of the Health and Environment Office, noted significant progress in healthcare services despite existing challenges and emphasized the importance of continued development.

Dr. Eman Al-Awdhali, the hospital director, highlighted major achievements over the past 100 days, including the reopening and rehabilitation of several departments, maintenance of the hospital infrastructure, and the introduction of the pediatric fellowship program and obstetrics course. She pointed out these advancements as crucial steps in enhancing the hospital's role as a specialized health and educational institution.

The event included a documentary screening and acknowledged the contributions of collaborators and supporters.

Following the ceremony, Governor Salah inaugurated the pediatric surgery department and launched various development projects. These included the rehabilitation of general surgery, neonatal and premature ICU (internal and external sections), pediatric ICU, and inpatient wards, along with building and facility maintenance. These projects were funded through self-financing and support from the Yaman Foundation.

Salah also inaugurated the rehabilitation of the hospital's meeting hall at a cost of 18 million Yemeni rials, supported by the General Administration of Community Initiatives. He commended the Yaman Foundation and the Community Initiatives Administration for their support and called for expanded partnerships to meet the healthcare sector's needs.

The Health Undersecretary highlighted the significance of these projects in creating a more efficient and safe treatment environment for residents of the governorate and surrounding areas.
