Sana'a: An extended workshop to activate the role of community initiatives in line with integrated development policies began today in Ibb Governorate. It is organized by the local authority in the governorate and the Central Emergency Interventions Unit, with the participation of relevant authorities, the General Mobilization, and the heads of cooperatives in the districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the three-day workshop aims to enhance government, private, and community integration, and to activate the role of cooperatives and the General Mobilization in managing development work in various fields.
The workshop will discuss the executive plan for partners and its implementation mechanism, the work path, objectives, and expected outcomes in technical, financial, and procedural aspects, and will review the unified operational, technical, financial, and procedural work package according to the integrated model.
At the opening, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in the governorate, Amin Ali Al-Warafi, highlighted the interest of the revolutionary and political leadership in activating the role of community initiatives as a fundamental pillar in supporting the local development path.
He affirmed the governorate leadership's commitment to supporting all initiatives and providing them with technical, administrative, and financial backing according to available capabilities, to improve service levels and alleviate citizens' suffering.
Al-Warafi pointed out that community initiatives in Ibb have proven their presence as an important contributor to the implementation of service and development projects and in supporting the local authority's efforts to improve infrastructure, reflecting the development of community cooperative awareness to mobilize efforts.
The workshop was attended by the President of Ibb University, Dr. Nasr Al-Hajili, the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khalid, the Deputy Governors Qasim Al-Masawa and Mohammed Al-Marisi, and the Director of the Central Emergency Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, Shihab Al-Shami. The Mobilization Officer, Abdul Fattah Ghallab, reviewed the Revolution Leader's directives for involving the General Mobilization in service and development work, and for enhancing the capacities of mobilization leaders in the field of activating community initiatives through cooperatives.
He also addressed the importance of unified efforts to continue implementing initiative projects to serve the community, especially given the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.
