Hajjah: The Republican Hospital in Hajjah Governorate witnessed the successful performance of its first cardiac catheterization procedure, following the introduction of cardiac catheterization services into the hospital's medical offerings.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Head of the Hospital Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashoul, stated that the procedure was performed under the supervision of cardiology and cardiac catheterization consultant Dr. Mohammed Al-Shami and was successfully completed. He pointed out that the patient was suffering from chest pain and shortness of breath. After examinations and diagnosis, a blockage in the coronary arteries was detected, necessitating urgent catheterization intervention.
He explained that the introduction of cardiac catheterization services-the first of its kind in the governorate-comes within the rapid achievements the hospital is witnessing and represents a qualitative addition to the services provided to citizens in the governorate and neighboring governorates.
The Head of the Hospital Authority emphasized that this service will alleviate the financial burdens and travel hardships on citizens, as well as save the lives of critical cases where timely intervention makes a significant difference, and prevent complications that may arise when transferring patients to other governorates for treatment.
He noted that the cardiac catheterization device that has been put into operation is among the latest medical equipment, expressing appreciation for the revolutionary leadership's attention to providing the device, and the role of the "Yemen Inmaa" development foundation in providing support. He praised the efforts of the medical and technical teams at the hospital, who contributed to turning the dream of establishing a cardiac catheterization department into reality, affirming the commitment to providing safe, sustainable, and high-quality health services.
