Mahweet: The first Education Forum for the 1448 AH academic year was held on Monday in Mahweet governorate under the slogan "Education is Everyone's Responsibility." The event focused on fostering community partnerships to bolster the educational process and unify efforts to advance the education sector and improve its outcomes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the forum presented its vision to achieve comprehensive and sustainable quality education through community partnership. The aim is to prepare a conscious and qualified generation capable of facing challenges and contributing to societal development. Discussions at the forum highlighted challenges such as school infrastructure needs, dropout rates, teacher training, and resource provision.
Ammar al-Hadi, the Province undersecretary Minister of Education and Scientific Research for the Education Sector, emphasized the significance of the forum in addressing the challenges faced by the education sector. He noted that education is a national priority requiring collective efforts to maintain and develop the educational process. Al-Hadi praised local authority efforts and affirmed the Ministry's commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at educational improvement.
Province Undersecretary Governor Ali Sharaf Al-Din stressed the importance of the forum as a reflection of official and community interest in education, identifying it as the foundation for human development. Al-Din highlighted the need for unified efforts to tackle challenges in schools, students, and teachers, affirming continued support from local authorities to the education sector.
Ibrahim Al-Zain, head of the education sector in the governorate, regarded the forum as pivotal for assessing the current state of education and developing practical recommendations to enhance educational performance. He acknowledged accomplishments achieved due to the resilience of teachers and community cooperation, emphasizing the need for strengthened community partnerships.
Khalil Mazarq and Ali Qutaina, heads of the Financial and Administrative and Education Divisions respectively, presented key recommendations, including forming a community committee to support education, launching an awareness campaign, mobilizing support from various sectors, and seeking sustainable funding sources. They stressed activating community roles in supporting education as a shared responsibility.
Forum participants underscored the importance of preparing an implementation plan to improve education in the governorate and fostering partnerships between local authorities and the community. They advocated for seeking funding, mobilizing support, and raising awareness to contribute to the development and achievement of educational goals.
