Fishermen’s Boats Light Up Al-Hodeida Coast in Maritime Display Celebrating Mawlid al-Nabawi

Al-hodeida: The coast of Al-Hodeida city witnessed this evening a celebratory maritime display commemorating the anniversary of the noble Prophet's birth (may the best prayers and complete peace be upon him and his family), with wide participation from fishermen's boats adorned with flags and light decorations.

According to Yemen News Agency, the boats set off from the fishing port basin and sailed along the coast adjacent to the Al-Hodeida Corniche, in a maritime procession that reflected the presence of the maritime heritage in the celebration of the occasion, adding a striking celebratory scene to the coastal front.

The boats, decorated with lights and flags, formed a maritime tableau stretching along the coast, reflecting the distinctiveness of Al-Hodeida's maritime environment and its authentic heritage in the lives of fishermen and coastal residents.

City residents followed the display from sites overlooking the coastline amid a festive atmosphere interspersed with chants and heritage segments, while the movement of the boats along the sea created a scene complementing the city's corniche lights.

The display was part of the celebratory activities held in Al-Hodeida Governorate to commemorate the Mawlid al-Nabawi, with the participation of various sectors and community components, reflecting the diversity of celebrations for this occasion.

The display was organized by the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, in coordination with the Mobilization in the Naval Forces, the Coast Guard Service, and the Tihama Coast Cooperative Fishing Association, as part of the Mawlid al-Nabawi celebration program.

During the carnival, attended by Dr. Hussein Maqbuli, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Ayyash Qahim, emphasized the importance of the maritime display in highlighting the maritime heritage of the people of Tihama, praising the level of preparation, organization, and the wide participation of fishing boats.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Al-Hodeida, Abdullah Atifi, pointed out that the maritime display added a distinctive character to the Mawlid celebration by recalling the maritime heritage of the governorate's residents in expressing joy at the occasion.

For his part, the First Deputy Governor, Ahmed Al-Bishari, explained that the fishermen's participation with their boats in the display reflects the presence of the fisheries sector in the governorate's celebratory activities, and embodies the coastal residents' engagement with the Mawlid al-Nabawi commemoration.

The Head of the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea, Hussein Al-Attas, explained that organizing the display comes within the Authority's activity program for the Mawlid al-Nabawi, with the participation of fisheries sector workers and coastal residents, enhancing the presence of maritime heritage in this occasion.

The display featured chanting and heritage segments that addressed the pure biography of the noble Prophet, along with maritime chants that accompanied the boats' procession along the coast.

The display concluded with a fireworks display over Al-Hodeida city, coinciding with the boats' return to the fishing port basin, in a celebratory scene that illuminated the city's coast and added a distinctive atmosphere to the conclusion of the occasion.

The maritime display coincided with a light parade of cars that toured the streets of Al-Hodeida city, reaching the corniche. The cars were adorned with flags, lights, and Muhammadan inscriptions, in a celebratory scene that brought together the city's streets and its coast, highlighting the diversity of expressions of joy at the Mawlid al-Nabawi commemoration.
