Capital secretariat: A seminar and several cultural evening events were held on Wednesday in neighborhoods of Al-Thawra District in the Capital Secretariat to mark the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birth.
According to Yemen News Agency, at Al-Hashous Mosque in Al-Jaraf Al-Gharbi neighborhood, the district's General Mobilization organized a cultural seminar addressed by Deputy Minister of Information for Policies and Content, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami. He spoke about what he described as systematic efforts by the US and Israeli enemy to insult Islamic sacred symbols, foremost the Prophet and the Holy Quran, in an attempt to weaken Muslims' attachment to their faith and sacred figures. He criticized the reactions of Arab regimes and peoples to such insults.
Dr. Al-Shami highlighted aspects of the Prophet's life, stressing the importance of following his example in patience, struggle, and conduct, and of honoring the Prophet, whom Allah chose as the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, while commemorating his birth. The seminar was attended by Capital Secretariat Local Council Planning Committee Chairman Sharaf Al-Hadi, Al-Thawra District Director Aqeel Al-Saqqaf, local, executive and mobilization officials, cultural figures, and citizens.
In the same neighborhood, the district's General Mobilization also organized a popular evening event marking the Prophet's birthday, featuring traditional cultural performances that reflected the Yemeni people's attachment to the Prophet, their adherence to their values, and principles. Meanwhile, residents of Wadi Fatima neighborhoods in Tunis District, Sawad Hanash Al-Shamalia in Al-Hasaba Al-Janoubiya, Al-Iman University neighborhood in Al-Nahdah, and the Water Corporation in Al-Hasaba Al-Shamalia held evening events marking the occasion.
Speakers highlighted aspects of the Prophet's life and his virtues as the Messenger of mercy to humanity, stressing the need to follow the Prophet's example and the teachings of the Holy Quran. They warned of what they described as enemy plots, cultural invasion, and soft warfare targeting the nation's faith and identity. The speakers said commemorating the Prophet's birthday reflects deeply rooted faith and wisdom in Yemeni society, strengthens its historical bond with the Prophet and his path, and promotes values of love, solidarity, compassion, and kindness.
The events featured poetry, religious chants, cultural performances, traditional displays, and devotional songs expressing joy at the anniversary of the Prophet's birth.
