Sana'a: The fourth popular festival, organized by the General Mobilization in Al-Tahrir District, Sana'a, concluded its ten-day run in celebration of the Prophet's birthday. The festival was supported by the Charitable Association for Teaching the Holy Quran and its Sciences.
According to Yemen News Agency, the closing ceremony witnessed a large public turnout and enthusiastic participation, featuring diverse performances by children and youth from various districts. These activities reflected the love and esteem the Prophet Muhammad holds in the hearts of Yemenis. The festival included poetry recitations, songs, cultural segments, and competitions about the life, character, and struggles of the Prophet Muhammad. Cash prizes, in-kind gifts, and food baskets were distributed to winners and some needy families. Additionally, gifts from the Al-Tahrir District, the Charitable Association, and other supporters were distributed to children from the audience who participated in poetry and song performances.
During the closing ceremony, attended by key figures such as the head of the Social Affairs Committee of the Local Council of the Secretariat, Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, and the Secretariat's Undersecretaries, Abdul Latif Al-Amri and Ali Al-Lahji, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for Policies and Content, emphasized the importance of embodying the values and meanings of mercy and benevolence on this great occasion. Dr. Al-Shami reviewed the virtues and characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad, who came as a mercy to all mankind and was deeply committed to guiding people and bringing them out of darkness into light through the Holy Quran.
Dr. Al-Shami also highlighted the dangers posed by repeated insults against the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, calling it a significant threat to the Islamic nation and its fundamental symbols. He praised the festival's activities and commended all those who contributed to organizing and holding the festival. He urged reverence and loyalty to the Messenger of Allah, following the morals, values, and principles he brought, and encouraged participation in the upcoming event in Al-Sabeen Square.
At the closing ceremony, Abdul Latif Al-Wali, Director of Public Mobilization and Head of the Festival's Preparatory Committee, emphasized that the festivals and events held by Yemenis to celebrate the Prophet's birthday reflect their deep connection to their noble Prophet and their love and loyalty to him. He stressed the importance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday, emulating his example, and embodying his noble character.
The governor praised the support from the Quranic Education Charity Association, businessmen, merchants, the affluent, philanthropists, and all those who contributed to the festival's success by providing prizes, gifts, cash, and food baskets for needy families. He also commended the efforts of the organizing committees and the media for their significant role in the festival's success.
The closing ceremony was attended by several key officials and community leaders, including the training directors of the Secretariat, Abdullah Al-Koul, and the Land Authority branch, Mohammed Al-Amadi, as well as the directors of the Liberation and Bani Al-Harith districts, Naji Al-Shay'ani and Hamad bin Rakan, respectively, and the Secretary-General of the Shu'ub district, Mohammed Al-Hadrami, along with a large crowd of citizens.
