Free Eye Care Initiative Launched in Hajjah’s Abs District

Hajjah: In coordination with the Ministries of Health, Environment and Foreign Affairs, the Camps Department of the Ministry of Health and its office in Hajjah province, Noor Al Ain Camp launched on Thursday, at Abs Hospital, a free camp for cataract removal and lens implantation.

According to Yemen News Agency, the camp, which is being conducted over two days by the International Sight Charity Foundation and Mecca Eye Hospital, is funded by the Direct Aid Society. The initiative aims to perform 460 cataract operations, providing much-needed relief to the residents of the region.

At the launch, the director of the health office in the province, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlani, highlighted the collaborative efforts made to implement the camp. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in alleviating the suffering of those affected in the Tihama districts and expressed gratitude for the support of the Ministries of Health, Environment, and Foreign Affairs in addressing the needs of the less fortunate individuals requiring cataract removal and lens implantation.
