Gold Rises, Poised For Fourth Straight Monthly Gain

Sana'a: Gold prices rose 1% on Saturday to a two-week high, driven by expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve may cut interest rates next month, boosting demand for non-yielding assets. According to Yemen News Agency, spot gold increased 0.9% to $1,192.78 per ounce, its highest level since 14 November, and is on track for a weekly gain of 2.9% and a fourth consecutive monthly rise of 4.6%. Silver also hit a record high of $55.33 per ounce, up 3.5% in the session and 13% for the month. U.S. gold futures for February delivery climbed 0.61% to $1,227.60 per ounce. Trading resumed around 13:30 GMT after a temporary suspension at CME Group, affecting currencies, commodities, Treasury bonds, and equities.
