Muscat: The Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahid Salah, inspected today the progress of maintenance and rehabilitation works currently underway at Ibb Sports Stadium, and the level of achievement in the project, which comes within efforts aimed at developing sports infrastructure in the governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the visit, accompanied by Shura Council member Nabil Al-Habishi, Governor Salah listened to a briefing on the nature of works being carried out at the stadium and the progress of the maintenance and rehabilitation phases. He stressed the importance of completing the works according to the required technical standards, to contribute to improving the stadium's readiness and enhancing its capacity to accommodate upcoming sporting events.
Governor Salah also reviewed some of the training sessions of the Shabab Ibb Club and the team's preparations for upcoming competitions, foremost among them their match against Mina' Aden Club on July 17 as part of the Republic Cup competitions. He emphasized the importance of supporting sports clubs in the governorate and enhancing their presence in local tournaments.
He affirmed that developing sports facilities is a priority to enhance youth and sports activity, as sports represent an important space for discovering talent and developing young people's capabilities. He pointed out that the governorate's leadership is working to provide suitable conditions for athletes and clubs to enable them to perform their role and achieve an honorable presence in various competitions.
Governor Salah noted that Ibb Sports Stadium is one of the vital facilities serving sports activity in the governorate, and that the maintenance and rehabilitation works will contribute to restoring it in better condition, keeping pace with the aspirations of athletes and the public, and enhancing the governorate's capacity to host various sporting events.
