Hajjah: Campaign Launched to Remove Street Stalls from Main Roads in City Center

Hajjah: A campaign began on Saturday in the city center of Hajjah Governorate to remove street stalls from the main roads. The campaign, implemented by the Public Works Office in the city center in cooperation with the local council and security agencies, aims to relocate the stalls to designated areas and remove wooden kiosks from Al-'Adhra Square in order to prepare it as an internal transport terminal.

According to Yemen News Agency, the head of the Public Works Office in the city center, Abdulmuttalib Al-Jarbani, explained that relocating the stalls from main streets to specified locations comes in implementation of the outcomes of a meeting of governorate leadership, security, public works, and relevant authorities. The move aims to reduce congestion, facilitate pedestrian movement, and improve the aesthetic appearance of the city center, while taking into account the living conditions of stall owners.

He noted that vegetable and meat stalls have been moved to the central market, while Al-Qiyada Street next to Al-Shaheed Al-Sammad Stadium in Hawrah has been allocated for clothing and accessories vendors. Al-Jarbani praised the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund for providing equipment, as well as the traffic police for their role in implementing the campaign, noting that the campaign will continue until its objectives are achieved.
