Hajjah Launches Specialized Medical Units at Republican Hospital

Hajjah: Hajjah governor Hilal al-Sufi and Deputy Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Nasher al-Qaoud inaugurated several specialized medical units at the Republican Hospital Authority in Hajjah province. The projects, funded by the Yemen Development Foundation at a cost of 1.5 billion Yemeni rials, aim to enhance healthcare services in the region.

According to Yemen News Agency, the inauguration included a peripheral cardiac catheterization unit, an MRI unit, an eye center, and a shockwave lithotripsy unit. Additional facilities such as an ENT diagnostic unit, a general surgery endoscopy unit, and advanced audiology and nerve conduction services were also opened. New operating tables and physiotherapy equipment have been added to support the hospital's capacity.

Governor al-Sufi emphasized that these projects align with the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Ministry of Health to strengthen healthcare infrastructure. He acknowledged the Yemen Development Foundation's role in providing advanced medical equipment, which will ease patient burdens and reduce the necessity of traveling outside the governorate for treatment.

Deputy Minister al-Qaoud highlighted the importance of maintaining the new equipment and the impact of these technologies in the governorate, stressing their potential to improve healthcare access and reduce patient hardships. He pointed out that these advancements will help prevent complications associated with long-distance travel for medical care.

Dr. Ibrahim al-Ashwal, Chairman of the Republican Hospital Authority, praised the leadership's support and noted that the new facilities would significantly improve healthcare services for residents of Hajjah and surrounding areas. He mentioned that the hospital is dealing with high demand and that the newly inaugurated units will enhance service delivery. Additional physiotherapy equipment is anticipated to further bolster services.

The officials toured the hospital facilities, assessing the medical services provided and discussing challenges posed by heavy demand. They received insights from the hospital's chairman on measures being considered to address these challenges and improve patient care.
