Sanaa: Hajjah University's Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Development and Quality Assurance Center, organized a training workshop on the technical management of the university's scientific journals as part of its Digital Identity initiative.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop aimed to enhance the capacities of academic and administrative staff in managing and operating peer-reviewed electronic journals, aligning with international publishing standards, and improving the ranking of the university's journals in global databases.
University President Dr. Taha Al-Hamzi stressed the importance of building the university's digital identity as a key requirement in the era of digital transformation, noting that the technical development of scientific journals is essential to strengthening the university's academic and research standing.
Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Humair Al-Awar said the workshop is part of efforts to establish specialized technical and administrative teams to manage the university's journal portal and standardize peer-review and electronic publishing procedures.
Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center Dr. Yahya Al-Aliyi highlighted the importance of qualifying journal staff, applying quality, accreditation standards throughout the editorial and publishing process.
Assistant President of Dhamar University for Centers Affairs Dr. Issam Wasil reviewed successful experiences in managing electronic scientific journals and emphasized the need for clear editorial policies, qualified editors, and sustainable technical support.
The participants recommended adopting a unified electronic journal management system, establishing a higher advisory body to oversee scientific publishing, and training specialized teams to manage digital platforms.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Hajjah University honored representatives of Dhamar University in recognition of their contribution to the success of the university's Digital Identity activities.
