Sana'a: The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research reviewed on Saturday the annual performance report of 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences, alongside reports from the International Union College and Modern Technology College, highlighting institutional achievements, quality improvements, and future development plans despite ongoing challenges.
According to Yemen News Agency, a meeting chaired by Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, was held in the capital Sana'a to discuss the annual performance report of 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences for the 1447 AH academic year. The report, presented by University Rector Dr. Mujahid Measar, university officials, and the Dean of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shamahi, reviewed institutional and academic performance across key areas, including planning, governance, quality assurance, teaching and learning, digital transformation, faculty development, student affairs, postgraduate studies, community service, and future development projects.
Dr. Luqman praised the report for its comprehensive data and performance indicators, stating it reflected notable progress and covered the ministry's required institutional benchmarks. He emphasized that the ministry and higher education institutions work as partners to improve academic and administrative standards across Yemen, adding that 21 September University had demonstrated resilience and commitment despite difficult national circumstances.
Officials noted that the ongoing review meetings with universities and colleges aim to assess institutional performance, compile sector-wide data, and identify opportunities to strengthen higher education. Committee members also commended the university's reported achievements in academic programs, community engagement, student services, administrative modernization, and infrastructure development.
University Rector Dr. Mujahid Measar expressed appreciation for the ministry's evaluation process, saying it helps identify strengths, address weaknesses, and support continuous institutional improvement. He reaffirmed the university's commitment to advancing education, research, and the development of skilled professionals in service of the community.
The committee also examined the annual performance reports of the International Union College and the Modern Technology College, both affiliated with the Orphans Foundation. The deans of the two institutions-Dr. Fathi Hashem of the International Union College and Dr. Khaled Al-Masajdi of the Modern Technology College-outlined progress in strategic planning, governance, teaching and learning, quality assurance, scientific research, and other academic and administrative performance indicators, while presenting plans for future institutional development.
