Hodeida: Today, Hodeida Governor Abdullah Atifi, along with deputies Ahmed Dahmos and Amer Muthanna, visited Bajel District to assess the progress of various production projects under the Bajel Multipurpose Agricultural Association. These efforts aim to bolster the agricultural sector and enhance local production in the region.
According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Atifi inspected the establishment of an Agricultural Seed Bank, focusing on the provision and storage of improved seeds. Association officials briefed him on the project's objectives and its anticipated impact on supporting farmers and improving agricultural quality in the area.
In addition, the governor reviewed preparations at a dairy factory, which will feature three production lines: yogurt, ghee, and milk. A sauce factory is also being set up with modern equipment, slated for launch soon.
Accompanied by Tihama Development Authority head Ali Hazza, Bajel District director Abdul-Moneim Al-Rifai, Community Initiatives Department director Hadi Heij, and Bajel Agricultural Association head Adel Sam, the governor was informed about the project progress and the association's operational plans.
Governor Atifi praised the association's efforts, highlighting the leadership's dedication to supporting agricultural initiatives and local food manufacturing, as these initiatives directly contribute to self-sufficiency. He viewed these projects as a model for effective partnerships between institutions and local authorities to achieve sustainable agricultural development.
He acknowledged the support and financing efforts for establishing productive projects that will strengthen food security in the governorate. The ongoing work on the agricultural seed bank and factories aligns with the governorate's strategy to support community initiatives, advance the agricultural sector, and create job opportunities.
The governor stressed his commitment to overseeing these projects until they are fully operational and efficiently run. He also emphasized continued coordination with relevant authorities to address challenges and provide support, enabling the association to fulfill its developmental role.
