Hodeida Launches Agricultural, Livestock Value Chain Project in 13 Districts

Hodeida: The local authority in Hodeida governorate launched a workshop to initiate agricultural and livestock value chains in 13 model districts as part of the 1447 AH development plan.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop was conducted under the supervision of the Ministries of Agriculture and Local Development, with support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Financing Unit. The event aimed to introduce stakeholders to a plan focused on enhancing food security and boosting local production.

Governor Abdullah Atifi emphasized the necessity for coordinated efforts among government entities, community groups, and the private sector. He pointed out Hodeida's potential to significantly contribute to food security through improved production, packaging, and marketing strategies.

Hodeida undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri, along with other officials, highlighted the project's alignment with national objectives to enhance self-sufficiency and promote rural development.

The workshop featured presentations from key agencies, discussions on coordination strategies, and commitments from partners such as the Zakat Authority and the Yemeni Economic Corporation, all pledging support for the project's implementation and sustainability.
