Hodeida: The General Authority for Land, Survey, and Urban Planning branch in Hodeida recently initiated its electronic collection project, known as AFMIS, for service fees and introduced a new initiative aimed at simplifying agricultural reclamation procedures across the districts.
According to Yemen News Agency, these projects are designed to modernize service delivery and enhance transparency through digital systems. Additionally, they aim to strengthen the role of agricultural associations in development efforts. General Authority Chairman Ibrahim al-Mansour, who was present at the launch along with Hodeida undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri, described the electronic collection as a strategic move towards digital transformation. This initiative is expected to unify collection processes, facilitate oversight, and prevent tampering.
Al-Mansour further explained that by simplifying agricultural reclamation procedures, the projects will reduce administrative hurdles, encourage investment, and boost local production. Hodeida undersecretary for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi emphasized that these initiatives reflect the state's commitment to service development and administrative modernization, especially benefiting remote areas.
Mohammed al-Nahari, Hodeida Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Acting Director of the Authority Hodeida branch, stated these projects are among the first digital collection models at the district level, promising improved performance and streamlined transactions. Engineer Mohsen Abu Ghaidna, Director of the Agricultural Reclamation Project, highlighted its advantages in saving farmers time and effort, boosting investment, and contributing to food security. The launch event included a demonstration of the new electronic system.
