Sana'a: Deputy Governors Fares al-Kuhali, Jubran Ghubr, and Mohammed Ayed inspected ongoing flood mitigation efforts Monday in several streets and entrances in the Beit Bos area of New Sana'a District, the governorate's capital.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Kahali, Ghubr, and Ayed reviewed the progress of street drainage cleaning and debris removal operations in the Kamran stream, carried out by emergency teams from the Public Works and Improvement Department and the Projects Implementation Unit.
The deputy governors emphasized the importance of promptly removing debris to protect main streets and roads, preserve the environment and aesthetic appeal, and alleviate the suffering of citizens during the rainy season. They stressed the need to continue debris and silt removal, clear flood channels, culverts, and drainage ditches, and to assign an engineering team to develop solutions for blockages in culverts and channels that are appropriate for heavy rainfall. They also emphasized the importance of taking necessary measures to minimize damage and prevent the formation of stagnant pools that could lead to the spread of disease and harm the environment and residents.
They were accompanied during the visit by the directors of works, Engineer Muhammad Ashiya, and improvement, Engineer Sami Al-Turabi, and the executive unit, Muhammad Makram, and the branches of works of New Sana'a and Bani Matar, Ammar Naji and Zaid Dahhan, and the deputy director of the excavation and removal of debris, Hamid Al-Shariqi.
