Sana'a: The Judiciary organized a commemorative event on Wednesday to mark the martyrdom of Imams Hussein and Zaid ibn Ali (peace be upon them). At the event, which was attended by the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Abdul-Mu'min Shuja' al-Din, and the Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority, Judge Dr. Marwan al-Mahaqeri, the Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Judge Ibrahim al-Shami, emphasized the enduring legacy of Imams Hussein and Zaid as beacons of guidance in confronting tyranny and injustice.
According to Yemen News Agency, Judge al-Shami highlighted the historical significance of Imam Hussein's uprising in defense of Islam, justice, and the dignity of the nation against oppression and enslavement. He cited Imam Hussein's declaration of "Never shall we submit to humiliation" as an eternal principle of resistance against falsehood and tyranny.
Judge al-Shami further elaborated on the legacy of Imam Zaid, describing him as a scholar raised in the Prophet's household and a devoted adherent to the Quran. He stressed that Imam Zaid's relationship with the Quran was one of guidance and responsibility, advocating for justice and rejecting silence in the face of injustice.
In his address, Judge al-Shami drew parallels between the historical struggles of Imams Hussein and Zaid and the contemporary plight of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza. He called for a sincere stance championing truth, justice, and human dignity in response to their suffering.
The Deputy Minister affirmed Yemen's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their resistance, highlighting the Yemeni people's resilience amid years of aggression and blockade. He declared Yemen's commitment to defending freedom, dignity, and independence, aligning with the principles of Imams Hussein and Zaid.
Judge al-Shami also expressed solidarity with the Yemeni Armed Forces and their efforts to deter aggression from the Saudi enemy. He commended the Islamic Republic of Iran for supporting Yemen's right to break the siege on Sana'a International Airport and rejected the American-Israeli aggression.
He reiterated Yemen's full solidarity with resistance movements in Lebanon and Palestine, emphasizing a united front against the Zionist project and the defense of sacred sites. Judge al-Shami concluded by reaffirming Yemen's commitment to resistance, inspired by the teachings of Imams Hussein and Zaid, in their quest for justice and independence.
