Hajjah: The Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development's committee tasked with evaluating the performance of the governorate's departments and executive offices launched its work today in Hajjah Governorate.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the kickoff, the committee held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Ismail Al-Muhaim, Mobilization Official Hamoud Al-Maghribi, and directors of executive offices. The meeting discussed strengthening oversight of executive offices, monitoring internal audits, revenues, and expenditures, and requiring offices to submit periodic performance reports.
The meeting also addressed mechanisms for developmental and social capacity-building to empower influential community groups, encourage active participation in local development, resolve social issues including tribal feuds, activate community engagement in cooperative and solidarity-based efforts, and transfer the development model of the Bajil Association to other local associations in the governorate.
The discussions emphasized completing the establishment of multi-purpose cooperative associations and activating them to achieve the goals of enhancing developmental and agricultural work, community initiatives, and strengthening resilience.
Mechanisms for selecting, training, and improving the skills of local development personnel were also reviewed, along with planning field visits to assess community needs. The meeting stressed reinforcing cultural, awareness, mobilization, and administrative work within administrative units to improve overall performance. It also highlighted the importance of documenting crimes of aggression and their impact on local development and basic services, as well as strengthening the roles of security and the judiciary in enforcing decisions and rulings.
The Secretary-General of the Local Council emphasized the importance of joint efforts between executive offices and the ministerial committee to achieve these objectives and work as a unified team to serve the community and support comprehensive development.
