Sana’a: The second-semester exams for the academic year 1447 AH were launched in Sana’a Governorate on Friday, with intensive on-ground monitoring from senior ministry and governorate officials.
According to Yemen News Agency, the first day of the exams saw 438,092 male and female students participate across 1,520 schools throughout the governorate’s directorates. Among them, 105,630 students took the unified exams for the basic education stages (sixth, seventh, and eighth grades).
The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Hatem Al-Da’is, the Secretary-General of the Governorate’s Local Council, Abdulqadir Al-Jilani, along with several governorate deputies and directorate directors, conducted inspection visits to schools in several directorates including Hamdan, Bani Hashish, Sanhan, and New Sana’a to ensure the smooth running of the examination process.
During the visits, officials emphasized the commitment of the ministry’s leadership and the local authority to overcome any difficulties and provide a suitable environment for students. They also praised the level of organization and discipline that marked the first day, describing the unified exams experience in the governorate and the capital as “pioneering.”
For his part, the educational sector official in the governorate, Talib Dahan, reported that the exams “proceeded on their first day in a regular, orderly manner and in a calm atmosphere without any difficulties.”
