Sana'a: The Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, has underscored the importance of Yemeni unity as a significant national achievement that must be valued, protected, and preserved. In his recent lecture, part of the series "Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most upright," the leader extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Yemeni people and official institutions on the anniversary of Yemeni Unity.
According to Yemen News Agency, Sayyed al-Houthi emphasized that since the unification, internal greed and external subservience have posed the greatest threats to this critical achievement. He highlighted the need for a unifying faith-based identity and a liberationist approach to safeguard the nation's independence and foster a genuine national renaissance.
The leader noted that the unifying faith-based identity is crucial in maintaining the unity of the Yemeni people, protecting them from division instigated by external powers. He criticized the Saudi regime for attempting to subjugate Yemen under foreign influence, particularly American and British oversight, and condemned those factions within Yemen that have aligned with external powers, betraying the nation's freedom and dignity.
Sayyed al-Houthi also addressed economic concerns, pointing out the detrimental impact of foreign control over Yemeni resources. He criticized the role of Saudi Arabia in preventing Yemen from exploiting its oil resources, thus hindering economic independence. Furthermore, he highlighted the exploitation of Arab and Islamic wealth by Western powers, stressing the importance of economic boycotts to liberate Yemen from foreign economic dominance.
The leader called for a shift towards local production to stimulate economic growth and reduce dependence on foreign imports. He noted the underutilization of local resources and the potential for an economic renaissance if capital is invested domestically. Sayyed al-Houthi urged for greater focus on developmental production in media and education, emphasizing agriculture as a vital component of Yemen's economic future.
