Bari: The management of the Levante Fair, one of the most prominent trade fairs in Italy and the Mediterranean region, announced on Monday evening that it has excluded Israel from participating in its 88th edition, scheduled to be held in Bari from September 15 to 21. According to Yemen News Agency, the decision came at the invitation of Bari Mayor Vito Leccese, who called for a boycott of Israel and a ban on its presence at the exhibition, expressing his rejection of Israeli policies in Palestine. The Levante International Fair is one of the most prominent economic events in the Mediterranean basin, bringing together diverse sectors including industry, agriculture, energy, environment, technology, and innovation. It is known for its role in promoting trade exchange between European countries, the Middle East, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean countries. It also attracts thousands of exhibitors and visitors annually, making it a key platform for economic and cultural cooperation. Meanwhile, since October 7, 2023, enemy forces, with full American support, have continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of 62,004 people, 156,230 injuries, more than nine thousand missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.
