Local Team in Hodeidah Inspects Devastation from Saudi Airstrike on Al-Wasabi Family

Hodeidah:A team from the local leadership in the Hodeidah Governorate has conducted an inspection of the damage inflicted on the home of Abdul Wahid Al-Wasabi in the Al-Tuhayta District. This inspection follows a devastating attack by Saudi aircraft that targeted and destroyed the house.

According to Yemen News Agency, the inspection team included directors from various offices such as Social Affairs and Labor, Planning and Statistics, and Community Initiatives, along with the Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union's local branch. The team assessed the site where the airstrike led to the death of Abdul Wahid Al-Wasabi, his two wives, and two of his children, and left his daughter seriously injured.

The inspection revealed extensive destruction to the house and its surroundings. The team condemned the attack, stating that targeting civilian homes reflects the criminal actions of the Saudi forces and highlights a deliberate pattern of violence against innocent civilians, particularly women and children.

The representatives emphasized that the attack is a clear violation of international laws and conventions. They highlighted the importance of documenting these incidents as part of an official and humanitarian duty to the victims and their families, which could support efforts to hold the perpetrators accountable as war criminals.

The team called on relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to take responsibility for monitoring such crimes. They affirmed the resilience of the Hodeidah Governorate’s residents and their commitment to resisting such aggression and opposing the ongoing violence and destruction.
