Sanaa: The First Deputy Prime Minister, Allama Mohammed Muftah, inaugurated an Eid sacrifice distribution project on Wednesday, spearheaded by the Martyrs' Foundation. This initiative aims to aid 1,500 of the most impoverished families of martyrs.
According to Yemen News Agency, Allama Muftah lauded the Martyrs' Foundation for its efforts in implementing projects such as the Eid sacrifice initiative, which falls under the larger Economic Empowerment Project. He urged philanthropists and merchants to contribute to the project to extend its reach to more families of martyrs and missing persons.
Saleh Al-Khawlani, a member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, praised the foundation's commitment to assisting martyrs' families, highlighting the Yemeni people's continued gratitude for the sacrifices made in defense of the homeland. He emphasized Yemen's strong stance alongside the Gaza Strip in their shared cause and advocated for the continuation of such projects in education and health sectors.
Hassan Jaran, the Executive Director of the Martyrs' Foundation, detailed that the Eid sacrifice project targets 1,500 families across various provinces, backed by a budget of 200 million Yemeni riyals. He noted that approximately 85% of the sacrifices will be distributed in-kind, with exceptions in four provinces: Lahj, Al-Dhale', Shabwa, and parts of Taiz.
Jaran also highlighted that this year's project is unique as the sacrifices were purchased from families of martyrs, aligning with the Economic Empowerment Project supported by the foundation, donors, and merchants.
