Sana'a: A meeting in the capital Sana'a reviewed on Monday the performance of the General Authority for Water Resources and Water Facilities, focusing on efforts to develop and protect water resources, enhance institutional efficiency, and complete network connectivity and automation projects.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants discussed measures to strengthen coordination between agricultural and water sectors, including plans to plant forestry seedlings around wells and expand water resource conservation initiatives. The meeting also reviewed progress in completing digitalization and network integration across the authority's headquarters and branches.
Officials highlighted recent achievements in water resource management, groundwater recharge, and institutional development, emphasizing the importance of sustainable water policies to support food security and long-term development.
The meeting stressed the need to improve administrative and technical performance, prevent uncontrolled well drilling, enhance public awareness on water conservation, and strengthen efforts to protect water resources from depletion.
