Sanaa: A meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, chaired by Deputy Minister Nasser Al-Mahdar, discussed the conditions of families displaced from the occupied governorates and ways to economically empower them.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was attended by key figures including the Undersecretary for the Rural Development Sector Ahmed Al-Haij, Chairman of the General Authority for Micro and Small Enterprises Dr. Ahmed Al-Kabsi, the Ministry's Policy File Officer Nabil Al-Damashqi, and several representatives of the displaced families. Together, they reviewed a matrix of needs and proposed projects aimed at economically empowering these families, improving their livelihoods, and enabling them to contribute to local and rural development.
The participants stressed the necessity of providing job opportunities for displaced youth, particularly in agricultural fields and handicraft industries, and integrating them into economic empowerment projects. They also emphasized the importance of training displaced families-especially youth and women development pioneers-and qualifying them in various aspects of productive work to enhance their capacities.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the vital role of women development pioneers and the significance of involving them in economic empowerment projects, particularly in food processing, leather industries, and tailoring.
Furthermore, it highlighted the importance of establishing a database and comprehensive information on the status of displaced families to support the preparation of development plans, programs, and economic empowerment projects.
