Sana'a: A meeting was held in Sana'a on Saturday, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan, to discuss the organizational and structural situation of the Rehabilitation and Correction Authority, in light of the ongoing merger and structural development process.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting featured key figures such as Minister of Justice and Human Rights Judge Mujahid Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulmajid Al-Murtada, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Civil Services Sector Major General Mohammed Al-Hakim, and Head of the Rehabilitation and Correction Authority Major General Ismail Al-Moayyed. General Al-Ruwaishan emphasized that the Authority and its inmates receive direct attention from the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, who prioritizes addressing grievances and achieving justice for the vulnerable.
General Al-Ruwaishan highlighted that the Government of Change and Construction is committed to improving services and unifying procedures, previously scattered among different entities, to streamline operations. He underscored that driving change and development is a shared national and moral responsibility among state institutions.
The meeting proposed transferring the Prison Authority, along with its structure and responsibilities, from the Ministry of Interior to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights. This transfer aims to maintain coordination and cooperation between the ministries, benefiting both inmates and the public interest.
Participants stressed the urgency of completing the transfer process and prioritizing pending court and prosecution cases. In recognition of the Minister of Interior's support and cooperation, the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Rehabilitation and Correction Authority presented a shield of appreciation, accepted by Deputy Minister Major General Al-Murtada on behalf of the Minister.
