Sana’a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted heavy and varying thunderstorms over several provinces in the coming 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin from the center indicates that regions in Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Hajjah, and Raymah are likely to experience very heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms.
The forecast also suggests that parts of Sana’a, Amran, Al-Mahwit, Saada, Al-Bayda, Abyan, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, Al-Hodeida, and the Tihama plain may receive rains of varying intensity with thunder. The center has issued warnings to citizens about the potential for flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising against crossing these areas during and after rainfall.
Further cautions have been issued regarding the dangers of thunderstorms, with advice to avoid electric poles and tall trees. The center also highlighted risks of rockfalls, mudslides, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rain and fog.
