Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has indicated that the nation is currently experiencing the effects of an intensifying low-pressure trough. This development is expected to result in widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours.
According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin forecasts substantial rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail across the governorates of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Sana'a, Raymah, Dhamar, Taiz, Al Dhale, Al Bayda, and the highlands of Al Hodeida and Tihama plain. Additionally, varying intensities of rainfall, sometimes with thunder, are anticipated in parts of Al Jawf, Marib, Hadhramaut, Al Mahrah, Aden, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwah.
The center has issued warnings to citizens about the potential for flash floods in ravines and valleys, urging people to avoid these areas during and after the rainfall. There is also a risk of rockfalls, mudslides, and reduced horizontal visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to the adverse weather conditions. The center further cautioned against being near electrical poles or tall trees during thunderstorms.
