Meteorology Forecasts More Scattered Thundery Rainfall of Varying Intensity

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast more scattered thundery rainfall of varying intensity over parts of several governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected over parts of the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, Sana'a, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, and Saada, as well as parts of the Tihama Plain.

Scattered rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder, is also likely over parts of the highlands of Al-Bayda, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramout, and Al-Mahrah. The center pointed to active to strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts.

The center warned citizens of flash floods in valleys and watercourses, and against being present in or crossing them during and after rainfall, as well as of the dangers of thunderstorms. It also warned drivers on roads and mountain slopes of reduced horizontal visibility, rockfalls and mudslides, as well as crossing ground-level bridges during flash floods.

Additionally, the center advised seagoers, fishermen, and ship captains of rough seas and high waves, urging them to exercise caution in the affected areas.
