General

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast predicting rainfall of varying intensity across several governorates, coupled with strong winds that are expected to cause sea turbulence over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin indicates that regions including Taiz, Ibb, Dhale'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Mahwit, Hajjah, Sana'a, Amran, Saada, and the highlands of Lahj are likely to experience rainfall accompanied by thunder and occasional hail. The bulletin also mentions that the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the southern and eastern coasts are expected to face strong to very strong winds, leading to turbulent sea conditions.

The center's report includes recent measurements of rainfall, noting that meteorological stations recorded 16.7 mm of rainfall in Ibb and 1 mm in Tur Al Bahah, Lahj, over the past 24 hours. Scattered rains were also observed in parts of Taiz, Dhamar, Raymah, Hajjah, Mahwit, and Amran, although these areas were outside the measurement range of the stations.

Warnings have been issued to citizens in mountainous areas about the potential for thunderstorms and the dangers of staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall. Motorists are advised against crossing land bridges during floods, and warnings have been extended to beachgoers, fishermen, and ship captains about rough seas and high waves in the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern coasts.
