Meteorology Warns of Very Cold Weather in Mountainous Highlands and Inland Plateaus

Sana'a: The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted very cold weather in the mountainous highlands and inland plateaus over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the weather bulletin issued by the center indicates that the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, and the highlands of Ibb, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, southern Marib, and western Al-Jawf are expected to experience very cold conditions during the night and early morning hours. There is also a possibility of frost forming in some areas.

The forecast also highlights that the weather may be cold in the highlands of Abyan and the plateaus and deserts of Shabwa and Hadramout governorates. The center has issued warnings to citizens, particularly the elderly, children, and patients in the western mountainous highlands and inland plateaus, advising them of the impending cold and very cold weather conditions.

Farmers have been advised to take necessary measures to protect their crops, and travelers heading to cold areas are urged to take precautions against cold shocks. Additionally, the center has alerted sea-goers, fishermen, and ship captains about the potential for rough seas and high waves south of the western coast and Bab al-Mandab.
