Ministry of Agriculture Conducts Veterinary Survey in Al-Mahwit

Al-Mahwit:The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has initiated a seven-day veterinary survey in Al-Mahwit Governorate. The survey aims to identify the presence of sheep and goat pox and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) across 35 villages.

According to Yemen News Agency, four specialized teams are tasked with collecting samples and evaluating the prevalence of these diseases. This effort is intended to guide appropriate veterinary interventions.

This survey is part of a broader national strategy to enhance livestock disease surveillance. The campaign seeks to prevent disease outbreaks, protect animal health, and mitigate losses that threaten rural livelihoods and food security.
