Sana'a: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed on Monday that the Saudi-led aggression against Sana'a International Airport, a civilian facility, will not go unpunished.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Ministry condemned in the strongest terms the Saudi aggression against Sana'a Airport, describing it as a violation of Yemen's sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity. The attack is also seen as a breach of the UN Charter, international law, and related international agreements, particularly the 1944 Chicago Convention, which prohibits targeting civilian airports.
The Ministry emphasized that this escalation poses a threat to security and peace both regionally and globally, with potential negative repercussions on multiple levels. It reiterated Yemen's stance against the ongoing aggression and the blockade imposed since March 26, 2015, asserting that all legitimate measures will be taken to end the aggression and blockade.
Additionally, the Ministry praised the Islamic Republic of Iran for breaking the blockade on Sana'a Airport by facilitating the transport of patients, stranded individuals, and the delegation attending the funeral of the martyred Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Ministry called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to condemn the Saudi actions against Sana'a Airport and to pressure the Saudi regime to cease its aggression and lift the longstanding blockade on Yemen.
