Sanaa: Chairman of the National Human Rights Authority, Ali Taisir, and Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor for Associations, Cooperatives and Organizations, Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing joint cooperation between the two entities. This agreement marks a significant step towards fostering institutional partnerships and collaborative mechanisms among state institutions and their human rights and development bodies. According to Yemen News Agency, the MoU focuses on merging efforts and promoting integration between official institutions and civil society organizations. The Chairman of the Authority emphasized the developmental and human rights roles played by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, acknowledging civil society components as vital partners in advancing human rights awareness and addressing community issues. He further highlighted that the MoU is a strategic move to bolster institutional coordination and expand cooperation area s, fostering a sustainable partnership that empowers civil society organizations to carry out their developmental and human rights roles more effectively. Dr. Ghassan Al-Madani, the Deputy Minister, underscored the importance of unified efforts between official and human rights institutions. He asserted that this partnership would support human rights and social work, enhance coordination, and serve societal needs while reinforcing the role of civil society organizations as pivotal partners in development and community protection. Meanwhile, Rami Al-Yousufi, Director General of Organizations and Civil Society Affairs at the Human Rights Authority, pointed out the significance of the MoU, noting the complementarity of roles it establishes between the Authority and the Ministry. He stated that the agreement embodies the principle of institutional integration, strengthens joint action, and provides broader opportunities for cooperation with civil society organizations on issues related to human rights and comm unity development.
