National Human Rights Commission Condemns Saudi Attacks in Taiz

Taiz:The National Human Rights Commission has condemned Saudi attacks on health facilities, civilian areas, and telecommunications networks in several districts of Taiz Governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the commission reported that Saudi aircraft and artillery targeted a health center in the Al-Mashawalah area of Al-Wazi'iyah District, resulting in the death of one civilian and the serious injury of a woman. Additionally, telecommunications networks in Jabal Habashi District and residential neighborhoods in Hadhran, Al-Ta'ziyah District, were targeted, injuring several civilians.

The commission described the attack on the health center as a war crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of medical facilities and their personnel. It stated that targeting telecommunications networks disrupts essential services and hinders rescue and ambulance operations, exacerbating the suffering of civilians.

The commission further claimed that the simultaneous attacks in Al-Wazi'iyah, Jabal Habashi, and Al-Ta'ziyah demonstrate a continued campaign against the infrastructure, essential services, and civilian livelihoods in Taiz. It held Saudi Arabia and its coalition fully legally and criminally responsible for the alleged crimes, urging international organizations and human rights bodies to condemn the violations and take urgent action to ensure accountability.
