Sana’a: The Tenders Committee in the Capital Sa has opened bids for 14 road projects, estimated at a cost of 833 million 640 thousand riyals, funded by the local authority. The meeting, led by Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee Hamoud Al-Naqib, included the participation of Planning Committee Chairman Sharaf Al-Hadi, Services Committee Chairman Adel Al-Aqari, and other key officials.
According to Yemen News Agency, the bids were referred to the Technical Analysis Committee for thorough evaluation. The projects encompass the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads and streets in various districts of the city, including Nuqum, Azal, Al-Wahdah, Ma’een, Al-Safiyah, Bani Al-Harith, and Al-Sab’een. Key streets like Al-Zubairi, Hadah, and Wadi Ahmed are part of the rehabilitation efforts, alongside implementing rainwater drainage solutions and repairing stone paving in Old Sana’a City.
The projects also cover the repair of deteriorated sections and implementation of asphalt layers on roads, such as the Airport Road and those surrounding the Imam Ali Mosque. Additionally, new surface bridges and retaining walls are planned to enhance the infrastructure.
Hamoud Al-Naqib emphasized the significance of these initiatives, which aim to improve services for citizens across the city’s directorates. He urged the Works and Projects Sector to adhere to technical and engineering standards to ensure the longevity of these projects.
