Palestinian Prisoner Saeed al-Tubasi Faces Health Crisis in Israeli Gilboa Prison

Jenin: The family of Palestinian prisoner Saeed Hussam al-Tubasi, who hails from the Jenin refugee camp, has confirmed that their son is enduring difficult health and living conditions in the Israeli Gilboa prison due to a policy of medical neglect.

According to Yemen News Agency, al-Tubasi, who has been imprisoned since the age of 19 and is currently serving a life sentence, is experiencing serious health issues. His mother reported that he suffers from fractured ribs due to beatings, a decline in vision following the confiscation of his eyeglasses, and considerable weight loss due to the harsh conditions and lack of basic medical care.

She expressed concern that the prison administration has not been responsive to al-Tubasi's requests for medical treatment, worsening his physical and psychological condition. His exclusion from a recent prisoner exchange deal has also added to his sense of isolation after more than two decades in captivity.

Al-Tubasi is recognized as a prominent leader of al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement. He played a role in several operations at the start of the Second Intifada, including the Karkur and Megiddo operations, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of settlers and injuries to others.
