Palestinian Resistance Stands Firm Against Disarmament Proposals

General

Gaza: The Zionist occupier and its American ally have boldly made disarming the Palestinian resistance a condition for halting the ongoing war on Gaza. This demand underscores their recognition that the modest arms of the resistance pose a significant barrier to their longstanding ambitions.

According to Yemen News Agency, the occupier's inability to achieve a decisive victory in Gaza over the past 18 months has been attributed to the resilience and belief of the resistance. The persistent demand for disarmament by the Zionist enemy has been met with an unwavering response from the resistance factions, who have rejected any negotiations that would lead to surrendering their arms.

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has been vocal in its opposition, condemning the Zionist enemy's disarmament demands as an American ploy to weaken the resistance and facilitate the execution of plans to depopulate Gaza. Suhail Al-Hindi, a member of Hamas's Political Bureau, has reiterated the resistance's non-negotiable terms, which include a complete cessation of hostilities and a full withdrawal of occupying forces.

Sami Abu Zuhri, head of Hamas abroad, emphasized that the weapons of the resistance are indispensable and will remain as long as the occupation continues. Similarly, Ahmed Abu Al-Sa'ad of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has stressed that the resistance's arms are a right of the people and are not up for negotiation.

The Resistance Committees in Palestine have also declared their openness to proposals that end the war, provided there is no compromise on disarmament. They have identified the Zionist demand for disarmament as a tactic to sabotage negotiations and have vowed to resist any attempts at coercion.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) has echoed these sentiments, asserting the legitimacy of the resistance's weapons under international law. Samir Abu Medleleh of the DFLP has warned that surrendering arms would only prolong the conflict and target civilians further.

The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces Follow-Up Committee has rejected any proposals involving disarmament, viewing them as political traps that could entrench the occupation. They have reaffirmed that the resistance's arms are non-negotiable and crucial for self-defense.

Political analysts have observed that the idea of disarming the resistance is unrealistic. Hazem Ayyad, a political analyst, has stated that surrendering weapons would equate to the defeat of the Palestinian people. Dr. Areej Jabr, a political science professor, has asserted that armed resistance is essential for the liberation of Palestinian lands, as negotiations have historically only expanded the Zionist project.
