Sana'a: The Parliament has condemned the Zionist aggression targeting civilian facilities in the city of Hodeida. In a statement, the Parliament labeled the attack on Hodeida port as a blatant violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and international norms and conventions. It described this aggression as part of a series of violations against Yemeni sovereignty.
According to Yemen News Agency, the statement emphasized that the targeting of civilian infrastructure is an attempt to undermine the will and resources of the Yemeni people and a move to dissuade Yemen from supporting the Palestinian cause. The Parliament underscored that the attacks on the civilian port in Hodeida aim to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people and reflect deep-seated animosity by the Zionist entity.
The Parliament reiterated Yemen's support for the Palestinian people, stressing that the principled stance is rooted in Yemen's belief in Palestinian rights. It called on Arab and Islamic parliaments and global communities to take action against the killing and blockade affecting Palestinians for over two years.
Furthermore, the Parliament urged the international community and the United Nations to fulfill their humanitarian responsibilities concerning the aggression and starvation faced by Palestinians. The statement criticized the silence of the international community and regional regimes, arguing that this silence has emboldened the Zionist entity to commit more crimes.
The Parliament also commented on the roles of Qatar and Saudi Arabia in mediation, asserting they should act similarly to lift the siege on Gaza. The statement highlighted the urgency of providing aid to Palestinians facing severe hunger.
Questioning the lack of regional solidarity, the Parliament pointed out the silence and betrayal of certain Arab regimes, accusing Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE of partnering with Zionist war criminals. It stressed the need for Arab and Islamic unity to counter Zionist actions threatening regional and international stability.
