Sana'a: The President of the National Human Rights Authority, Ali Taisir, engaged in discussions with the restorative justice team from the Technical Committee for Juvenile Justice. The team, led by Amal Al-Riyashi and comprising several ministries and entities, focused on strategies to ease the burden on detention centers, public prosecution offices, and courts.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included committee members Rami Al-Yousifi and Abdu Al-Harazi. They evaluated the effectiveness of influential community figures within the restorative justice program and explored ways to support the judicial system and expedite cases involving juveniles and children.
During the discussions, Ali Taisir highlighted the importance of enhancing restorative justice programs to safeguard the rights of children and vulnerable groups, such as children accompanying their mothers in central reformatories and persons with disabilities. The goal is to promote the best interests of the child, guided by religious and humanitarian values, national laws, and international agreements ratified by the Republic of Yemen.
Taisir also mentioned that these initiatives align with the directives of the Revolution Leader, Mr. Abdul-Malik Badruddin Al-Houthi, to establish Quranic principles aimed at societal reform and the advancement of human rights and humanitarian efforts in Yemen.
